About the show…
Winner of the Tony Award “TRIPLE CROWN” for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet “sexpert”), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life! AVENUE Q is sure to offend and delight everyone and is rated “WTF” for colorful language and full puppet nudity!
As the official Avenue Q website says, "If you do bring your teenagers to Avenue Q, they'll think you're really cool."

Produced by ADHD Productions and the Hoogland Center for the Arts

Characters…

Princeton: Sweet, charming, cute and sincere. Has recently moved to Avenue Q, where he learns life lessons the hard way from puppets and humans alike. Lovable endearing and appealing.

Rod: Conservative, uptight investment banker. Closeted homosexual. Trying to come to terms with his sexuality with the help of Nicky, his best friend and roommate.

Nicky: Unemployed, slacker. Rod’s roommate. Charming and undeniably cute. Has no problems with Rod being gay.

Bad Idea Bear 1: Cute, charming little boy bear who, with the help of Girl Bear, is a very bad influence on Princeton.

Kate Monster: Kindergarten teaching assistant who dreams about eventually opening a school for monsters. She may look sweet, put-together and conservative, but has a very feisty and opinionated monster side. Quickly falls for the new guy on the block, Princeton.

Lucy T. Slut: Vixenish vamp with a dangerous side. Sings at a local café. Star of “Girls Gone Wild” Parts 2, 5 and 7. Sees other women as obstacles to men.

Mrs. T: Old spinster teacher. Bitter and conservative. Kate Monster’s boss.

Bad Idea Bear 2: Cute, charming little girl bear who, with the help of Boy Bear, is a very bad influence on Princeton.

Christmas Eve: Asian woman (or Asian-esque), Wants to be a therapist. Lives on Avenue Q with her Jewish husband, Brian. Smart, blunt and edgy, but also nurturing and kind.

Brian: Chubby, laid-back, wannabe comedian; unemployed. Good guy who everyone always likes and is easy to be around. Married to Christmas Eve, who is constantly badgering him to get a job.

Gary Coleman:  Former celebrity; now lives/works on Avenue Q. Funny and sardonic, with a unique and vivid presence. Has lived life. Any physical type.
